Happy August! We hope you are enjoying your summer! For us in Michigan, we are finally living the days we "imagine" when we're out in the cold shoveling snow out of our driveways. Though the seasons change, one thing remains the same, our God!
My wife {Kellie} and I really enjoy this time of year where we get to experience change and transformation right before our eyes. Over the past couple of years, our excitement to raise butterflies has grown, not only for the experience, but to help make a difference in our environment and ecosystem! I believe we can all agree that the metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly is miraculous. If God has those type of plans for a caterpillar, just imagine how big His plans are for you!
Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Caterpillars need fresh food from its specific host plant, proper ventilation, and a safe place for the caterpillar to pupate or become a chrysalis. The caterpillars that we raise rely on us, so if we fail to provide them with those basics, the chances of survival, protection from predators, and the caterpillar becoming what it's destined to be are vey low. See, our Father knew we would need guidance, a savior, someone that we could rely on. We can seek His will and protection against our enemies by praying, spending time with God, and studying God's word. God's plan for your life is bigger than you could ever imagine. Yet, some of us fear or become anxious in our lives. You may not know or understand your calling and purpose, but He wants to show you.
When a caterpillar is just hatched, it is already destined to go through metamorphosis and turn into a butterfly or moth. Just like you and I have a purpose, there is a purpose for this transformation, and without caterpillars and butterflies the entire ecosystem would be effected.
Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
If the caterpillar knew it had to fall apart completely, totally decompose, losing its shape, but knew it'd become a butterfly - Do you think it would hesitate?
It only makes sense for that type of transformation to take place, that change is needed!
Change is something we tend to fear and become anxious about because we do not feel in control of life. The good news is that God has a plan for your life that includes hope, future, and prosperity. God said before He formed you in your mother's womb, He knew you!
We need to learn to trust God and allow the change to grow us to become more like Jesus Christ.
Deuteronomy 31:6
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you or abandon you."
Just like there are bigger plans and a bigger purpose for a caterpillar, God has the same for you and I.
Stay encouraged in your walk and pursue your relationship with God. We will continue to pray that your desire grows each day to see what plans and purpose He has for you!
Change awaits, don't hesitate!
